Alcatel-Lucent and finalists exhibit during CCE at the LA Auto Show

November 25, 2014

The ten finalists of the Ford hackathon performed during the Connected Car Expo Super Mobility Week in September were invited to compete in the Pursuit finals, displaying their innovations during the Connected Car Expo at the LA Auto Show Nov. 18-20.

Alcatel-Lucent app innovators Dan Kliebhan and Anand Setlur had two months to refine their 3sACrowd apps with the Ford team. This event has been a good time for our team to learn a lot and show how the New Conversation APIs easily enable to add Communication as a Service (CaaS) to the connected car experience using the Ford TDK.

Finalist at Ford developer hackathon

September 15, 2014

Alcatel-Lucent app innovators Dan Kliebhan and Anand Setlur participated in a 12 hour hackathon during the Ford connected car app developer conference  as part of the Connected Car Expo at CTIA’s Super Mobility Week in Las Vegas Sept. 8, 2014.

They developed the 3sACrowd concept leveraging data generated by Ford vehicles, city data provided by the City of Los Angeles as well as the New Conversation APIs. Attended by more than 170 developers from 15 countries, 3sACrowd innovation put IP-Comms in the driver seat and was one of the 10 finalists selected for the Connected Car Expo at the LA Auto Show on Nov 18-20!

3sACrowd offers callers a more private experience by using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to detect if there are other passengers in the car. The caller then has the option of declining to place the call if privacy is preferred, and the driver receives a notification about the private call.

Congratulations to Dan and Anand who won a Ford Sync TDK (Technology Development Kit), a black box enabling Ford’s engineers, and its partners, to test apps with a simulated vehicle.
